Craigmillar Castle is an extremely well preserved medieval castle within the city limits of Edinburgh. There is much to explore including the Great Hall, hidden chambers, and one of the oldest tower houses in Scotland. You can venture into the castles dungeon where, in the early 19th century, a skeleton was found bricked up behind a wall still standing upright.
